The SEMA Coalition commends the Office of the United States Trade Representative (USTR) for providing the opportunity to comment on unfair trade practices. President Trump saw the strategic importance of domestic solar manufacturing with his first-term enactment of Section 201 Solar Safeguard and Section 301 tariffs, which prompted the reshoring of solar module and component production in the United States. This progress came after a long period of ineffective U.S. trade policies that allowed China to circumvent our laws and unfairly flood our markets.
We look forward to continuing our work with the Trump Administration to establish effective trade policies that level the playing field for American advanced energy manufacturers throughout the supply chain and enhance American energy dominance.
