SEMA Coalition Statement on The 2024 Election

Washington, DC – Mike Carr, Executive Director of the Solar Energy Manufacturers for America (SEMA) Coalition released the below statement following the 2024 election results:

“American solar manufacturers are leading the way in strengthening U.S. energy independence and security, creating good-paying jobs, and reducing energy costs throughout the country. We look forward to working with the Trump administration and the 119th Congress to ensure our continued momentum to reshore the solar manufacturing industry.

“President Trump’s trade actions during his first-term resulted in significant relief for solar manufacturers. Smart trade and tax policy can shield thousands of American manufacturing workers from the relentless onslaught of state-backed Chinese firms’ anticompetitive business practices. With solar as the cheapest form of energy on the grid, we look forward to continuing to bring back American manufacturing and reduce our reliance on Chinese-controlled supply chains.”
