SEMA Congratulates Senator John Thune on His Election as Senate Majority Leader

U.S. Solar Manufacturers Look Forward to Working With Thune and the 119th Congress to Strengthen U.S. Domestic Solar

Washington, D.C. – Today, Mike Carr, the executive director of the Solar Energy Manufacturers for America (SEMA) Coalition issued the following statement in response to Senator John Thune’s election as the Senate Majority Leader in the next Congress:

“Throughout his time in Congress, Senator Thune has demonstrated leadership in strengthening America’s energy security and supporting domestic energy production for the benefit of the economy, the environment, and U.S. national security. As a member of the Senate Finance Committee, Senator Thune has pursued a pragmatic approach to policy supporting American energy dominance. With over 80 percent of South Dakota’s energy coming from renewable sources, we know that Senator Thune understands how American-made renewable energy keeps prices low and supply secure. We look forward to working with Senator Thune and the 119th Congress to continue the critical strategic effort to reshore the solar manufacturing industry.”
